Empowering Welsh Unpaid Carers’ Voices

At VOICES ADFOCAD, we work to ensure that unpaid carers are seen, heard and valued. Led by people with lived experience of caring, we champion the rights of unpaid carers across Wales and make sure their voices influence the decisions that affect their lives.

What We Do

We bring the experiences of unpaid carers directly to service providers, decision-makers and policymakers, helping to shape more inclusive and effective support systems.

Our work includes:

• Advocating for carers' rights and promoting recognition of the vital role unpaid carers play in society.
• Amplifying lived experience, ensuring carers' perspectives are represented at every level, from local communities to national policy discussions.
• Engaging with carers throughout Wales to understand their priorities, challenges and aspirations.
• Influencing policy and practice by working with public bodies, charities and community organisations to create meaningful change.
• Raising awareness of the rights, contributions and experiences of unpaid carers of all ages and backgrounds.

Our Vision

We believe that those with lived experience should be at the heart of decision-making. Our vision is a Wales where unpaid carers are recognised as equal partners, their rights are protected, and their experiences help shape the services and policies designed to support them.
